Console

Maska HQ, the one console for the whole business: Today, Analytics, POS, Procurement, Ops and Organisation in a single rail.

The console is the app an owner or manager opens first. It is one workspace over the whole business rather than a door into each module, so the day’s orders, the day’s sales, what stock is short and which checklists are done all read on one screen, and the settings behind them are a click away in the same rail.

You reach it after signing in with your phone or email and your 4-digit PIN. What appears in the rail depends on which modules your business has switched on and what your role can open.

The rail

The rail’s top level is the module. Six sections, in this order:

Module What sits under it
Home Today, the home screen.
Analytics Sales, Profit, Purchases.
POS Approval queue, Menu, Recipes.
Procurement PO approvals, the purchase orders waiting on a decision.
Ops Checklists, Escalations, Repairs.
Organisation Users, Outlets, Payments, Brand, Subscriptions.

Each module section folds shut, and the console remembers which ones you left closed. Every row carries a short line saying what the section is.

On a phone the rail collapses to a tab bar across the bottom.

Tip: press Ctrl K (or Cmd K on a Mac) anywhere in the console to open the search and jump straight to a page, a report, a dish or an outlet.

What each section is for

Analytics

  • Sales holds the reports in four groups: Sales, Service, Money off and Spend. Pick a report inside a group with View. Each report leads with one number, one chart and one main table.
  • Profit is the day’s gross down to what it kept.
  • Purchases is spend on stock.

POS

  • Approval queue holds kitchen dishes waiting to be priced and routed to the counters that will sell them. See Menu and pricing for the kitchen half of that handover.
  • Menu is dishes, prices, categories and add-ons. See Menu and prices.
  • Recipes is a read-only view of the recipe library and its costs.

Procurement

  • PO approvals is the owner’s sign-off on purchase orders above the spend threshold, without leaving the console. The full purchasing desk stays in the Procurement app.

Ops

  • Checklists shows today’s checklists at every outlet and how far through each one is.
  • Escalations lists the checks that failed and who is on them.
  • Repairs lists the repair tickets raised on the floor, open and closed.

The full Ops app is still where staff work the day. See Ops.

Organisation

  • Users is the people directory and what each person can open.
  • Outlets lists every outlet, warehouse and production unit. Each outlet has its own page: its setup steps while it is new, and its settings after that (counters and printers, kitchen and floor, billing).
  • Payments is the payment types you take, discount codes and delivery apps.
  • Brand is your brand record and the brand targets.
  • Subscriptions shows which modules are switched on, network-wide and per location.

The outlet picker

One picker at the top of the console sets the scope for every screen under it, and it offers each outlet plus All outlets, a roll-up across the whole business. Whatever you pick rides with you as you move between sections, so choosing an outlet on Today keeps it chosen when you open Reports.

Today

Today is the console’s home screen and it answers one question: what is happening right now, and what needs you. It is about one day only. For a range, use the reports.

It reads top to bottom:

  1. Needs you. The things to act on, the bad ones first, then the biggest amounts: a close that was off by more than its limit, a day not closed, money off past its target, a purchase request or order waiting on your approval, a checklist missed. Each row opens the place to fix it. When nothing needs you, it says so in one line.
  2. The day. Sales so far, large, with a chart of today by the hour against a usual day (the average of the last four of the same weekday). A line under it says whether you are ahead of, behind or about where you usually are by this hour. Under that, the other figures of the day in one strip.
  3. One row per outlet. Its sales and how that compares, open orders, how far through its checklists it is, and its close: Open, Closed or Over limit. The row opens the outlet.
