Setting up an outlet

Open a new outlet from its own page in Maska HQ: bill details, menu, a counter, a printer, payments and a test bill, in order.

Every outlet has its own page in Maska HQ. Open Organisation → Outlets and press the outlet’s row. Until the outlet takes its first paid bill, that page is a short list of setup steps. After the first bill, the same page becomes the outlet’s settings.

The setup steps

The steps are in the order you do them. The next step to do is the one with a button. Press it and the step opens right there on the page, so you never lose your place. When you save, the list moves on by itself.

Step What you do
Add the bill details Your business name, address and GST number, as they print on every bill.
Put your menu on sale here Pick the dishes this outlet sells and check their prices. See Menu and prices.
Pair a counter The tablet that takes orders and prints bills here. See Printing, counters and screens.
Add a printer Bills and kitchen tickets print on it.
Pair a kitchen screen Optional. Skip it if your kitchen works from printed tickets.
Choose how you take money Cash, card, UPI and the rest. Switch on what this outlet takes.
Take a test bill Open the counter and take one bill. Once it is paid, setup is done.

If a step needs an owner and you are not one, the step says Ask an owner instead of showing a button.

The kitchen screen step never blocks the others. It stays as “later” until you pair one.

You can leave the steps at any time with See all settings, and come back with Back to the setup steps.

After the first bill

When the first paid bill lands, the page says You are set once. From then on it opens on the outlet’s settings, in three tabs:

Tab What is in it
Counters & printers Pair a counter or screen, the counters and screens at this outlet, the counter account, and the network printer.
Kitchen & floor Kitchen stations, kitchen timing, and the tables and zones.
Billing What a bill carries, how the day closes, and this outlet’s targets.

If you switch tabs with changes you have not saved, the page asks first.

Settings for the whole business

Some settings are the same for every outlet and live under Organisation:

  • Payments: the payment types you take, discount codes and delivery apps. Each outlet then switches on the ones it uses.
  • Brand: your brand record and the brand targets.
  • Users: who can open what. See Users and access.
